Tool guide
The Percentage Calculator simplifies complex percentage math into an intuitive, fill-in-the-blank format. You no longer need to remember the formulas for calculating percentage differences or finding a fractional amount.
This tool helps you solve common percentage calculations for shopping, discounts, academic marks, business metrics, personal finance, and daily math problems effortlessly.
Behind the three calculators are three simple formulas. Here is what each one does so you can check the math or work it out by hand.
X% of Y:(X ÷ 100) × Y
X is what % of Y:(X ÷ Y) × 100
% change from X to Y:((Y − X) ÷ X) × 100
For example, 20% of 500 is (20 ÷ 100) × 500 = 100. And a change from 100 to 120 is ((120 − 100) ÷ 100) × 100 = 20% increase.
These are the everyday percentage problems most people run into, from a store sale to a restaurant tab.
